What is this PDU?
With the increasing loss of positions, it is our responsibility to ensure that every teacher/librarian is equipped and supported in being a 21st century integral part of every classroom. Participant in this PDU (or any of the individuals sessions) will provide you with the skills and resources to effectively collaborate with your classroom teachers in support of curricular units of instruction.

Why would I do this?
You are such an integral part of each student's education. But the role of librarians is changing and we need to change with those expectations to remain critical. Your job may seem secure this year, but change in administration or school resources may cause the situation to be questionable. Let's ensure that the teacher-librarian position is well known as being the critical key to the academic success of each classroom.

How much time is required to complete it?
To complete the PDU, you must:
  • complete 43 hours of seat time (including independent work)
  • attend the district ETLS Professional Development day (not yet scheduled)
  • write a 3-paragraph reflection
  • submit the link to your website (as your project)

When will it be offered?
Each session will be offered at least twice in the summer, spread out over the summer. A calendar of session times will be available before the end of school and email to you.

Where will the sessions be offered?
TBA

How will I record my work hours?
You may record your hours in an online log/spreadsheet.

Explain the requirement to attend a PD day
Each Fall, the district offers us a PD day to get together. You need to be in attendance for the day. The time and location will be forthcoming via email in August.

If I don't want a PDU, can I attend?
You are so welcome to attend one or any number of sessions.

How will I be notified?
Those who complete the online form will be sent information.

What if I have a question?
Don't hesitate to email Candy or Dave.
